South Korea has been on my bucket list for a long time. So, when Air Asia held a Mega Sale on their airfares, I was thinking this is the right time to explore the Kimchi Land. Here, I will try my best to write on the itinerary in the simplest form; less words and more photos. This first blog post of five-part series, we are going to talk briefly about the Korean lifestyle and culture, as well as some tips just before you started your adventure trip to Korea.
Molin and I went to Korea at the end of November and we did not expect that the weather would be as cold as you need to wear puffy coat all the time. In a way to cut the travel budget, we did explore Seoul and Jeju Island by ourselves, without joining any tours or hiring private tour guide.
We safely arrived at Incheon International Airport at 8.20 am. Since we got friends that are studying in Seoul, so we just stayed at their place. A few notes here 1) Stay on the right lane when you take escalator and you are not in hurry 2) There will be always airport limousine buses right in front of the airport which links to almost anywhere in Seoul 3) It takes about 2 hours from Incheon International Airport to Seoul City, so if you are planning to redeem the tax-free refunds, go to the airport earlier 4) In Korea, Koreans usually use Naver maps but the maps is only available in hangul. 5) Bring only all your puffy over-sized coats if you are planning to visit Korea at the end of November, though the temperature has never reached negative but Korea is very windy.
